Hello, I am Maruchi owner Tetsu. I love to eat and cook. I want to show you a simple Japanese recipe that everybody can make at home.

Many of our customers tell me "I love Japanese food, but I don't know what to buy and how to cook it". So, I decided to show you how to prepare a simple Japanese style Thai green curry using a pre-packed mix that you can get from my store. You won't believe how easy and delicious this recipe is. After you make this, you'll be craving for more.


  • 1 pack of "Thai's kitchen (タイの台所)Thai Green Cury Set" from Maruichi

    • ​(The set includes curry paste, dried coconut milk powder, dried Kaffir lime leaves, and nam pla suace.)​​

  • Cooked rice

  • 300mil hot water (1 1/2 cup of water) 

  • 1 table spoon of sugar (optional)

  • 1/2 lb. of Chicken

  • 1 pack of Hinoki mushroom ( or white mushroom works too)

  • 2 small or 1 large Asian eggplant (skinny is better)

  • 1 green pepper

  • 1 carrot (optional)

  • Cooking oil

Step 1.

Cut vegetables and dice chicken.

Step 2.

Open a package of curry paste from a pack of "Thai Green Curry Set". 

Step 3.

Mix the paste and a table spoon of oil to soften the paste.

Step 4.

Pour the paste (step 3) into the preheated large frying pan and cook the paste about 1 min with low heat.

Step 5.

Add diced chicken into the frying pan and cook it with medium heat.

Step 6. 

Pour a package of dried coconut milk powder into a small bowl and mix with 300 ml hot water.

Step 7. 

Once the pieces of chicken are cooked, add the pack of dried Kaffir lime leaves and the coconut milk (step 5) into the pan.

Step 8. 

Cook with medium heat until boil.

Step 9. 

Add all vegetables and cook about 10 to 15 min with medium heat until all ingredients are softened.

Step 10.

Add the small pack of nam pla sauce once everything is cooked. 

(Optional) Add a teaspoon of sugar to make the dish less spicy.

Step 11.

Serve Thai green curry sauce on top of cooked rice.
